hello there!
Have you ever taken a trip with a toddler, and they kept asking, are we there yet? Yea, well, that’s exactly how I feel. I keep asking, are we there yet? Are we there yet? Y’all, I’m so ready for this COVID to be over I could scream. You never realize how much you appreciate the little things like taking your kid to the park, or going to the movies, or just hanging with family. While I know COVID is here to stay, it would be nice if it let up a little.
So, since we aren’t there yet, how are y’all holding up? I’ll be honest and say for me, I’m doing a lot better than I was doing last year this time. Mentally I was struggling, and being pregnant on top of that didn’t help either. Those who believe this virus is a hoax, I’ll be the first to tell you it’s not. I’ve personally experienced family and friends suffering from COVID, and unfortunately, some did not recover. Right now, with COVID and so much loss, it’s not the time to shy away from family and friends because mentally, that could be taxing. We need to continue to use this time as a wake-up call and love on our family and friends even harder.
This week’s post isn’t going to be like our normal post. This post is coming from a place of worry. I want you to be okay with this new normal and if you’re not, reach out to someone to get help. I listen so well my friends call me the listening ear. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me or anyone if you are struggling mentally. Take a step away from the house and go out for a walk. Treat yourself to something you’ve been wanting. Take a long bath or shower and read a good book. These are just a few ways to help you mentally as we continue to navigate this crazy pandemic.
With everything going on in the world, I really hope all of my socialites are staying safe and sane as best as you can. I know right now, as we continue living in a world full of uncertainty, it can become an emotional rollercoaster that can take a toll on you more than you want. Socialites, please, please, please, if you are struggling right now with your mental health, please feel free to reach out to me or a mental health professional to get you back to your happy place. 2020 came and went with a vengeance, and together we will work to figure out how we can make this year better than the last.
