hello there!
This will probably be the hardest step of all. At least it was for me, and to be quite honest this is an ongoing task I have to work on. This step may be the most difficult because of the doubt, fear, and low confidence you’re fighting now and anxiety about the future. But the moment you get out of your head and tell yourself you can do it; things will start falling into place.
In today’s world, there are so many things that can distract you and put you in a place where you overthink things. Yep that’s ME! I’m literally raising my hand right now because I’m so guilty of overthinking myself and my plan. With developing “Miss Society,”I got in my head so much that I decided I wasn’t going to do this at all. There were so many cool ideas out there that I wanted this and that. But when I couldn’t get everything, I saw out there, then the fear would kick back in and I would go right back into my own head.
I recently read a Mashati A. quote that said, “Overthinking will not empower you over things that are beyond your control. So, let it be if it’s meant to be and cherish the moment.” After reading this quote, it made me think about so many things that I’ve overthought by simply getting in my head. I’m a firm believer that“everything happens for a reason,” and until you get out of your head you won’t know the reason for the season of life you’re going through.
In addition to reading uplifting quotes, here are more tips you can use to stay above your fear:
One thing I’ve found to help me get out of my head is reading a new book (secretly I’m a bookworm). Reading new inspirational books helps put things into perspective for me and lets me know I’m not the only one who has or is experiencing the same thing. Read My Top 3 Books post right here!
Write those affirmations down sis! Reading your daily affirmations can quickly change the negative thoughts in your head to positive thoughts. These affirmations will give you the extra boost to know you can do it when you think you can’t.
Bouncing your ideas off of people you trust will reassure you that you are on the right track and everything else is just in your head. For me hearing “I love that idea” or “You should definitely do that” has not only flushed those thoughts in my head away but also made me feel like I am taking steps in the right direction.
